To EH. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to SRN. c. to OJ. RB{R. Bowen}/G29.5.19. X.1807 - RE ELECTRICAL MILEAGE REGISTER AND SPEED INDICATOR. I quite think it would be worth while to have a patent got out for an electrical mileage register in conjunction with an electrical speed indicator, as suggested in your memo of 8th April, 1919. Later, we will look into the question of having such an apparatus designed and constructed, and put into use, so as to obtain experience. Do not conclude that I think this is better than existing revolving shaft if well carried out. I fear it would not be so. Another difficulty is that it is an apparatus which we do not propose to make ourselves, but to purchase from trade constructors.
