PHANTOM SIDE SPARE WHEEL CARRIER FOR USE WHEN REAR SPARE WHEEL CARRIER IS FITTED TO THE CAR.

Referring to Dal/M.4.6.27. we would like to know whether it is definitely proposed to use the type of spare wheel carrier shown on N.Scheme 2420 on both sides of the Phantom when six wheels are specified. Practically every Phantom car is specified with two spare wheels.

It will of course be necessary for this spare wheel carrier to be run 10,000 miles or given an equivalent test, as the bracket is modified to such an extent as to certainly put very much increased stresses on the anchorage of the bracket in question.

There is one other point which is nearly certain to arise, namely, that Sales invariably ask for the side spare wheel carrier which is to be used when the rear spare wheel carrier is out of action, to be easily detachable so that it can be left off the car when the car is not being used for touring purposes with luggage.
