X 1402 COPY. 21.12.20. X.1690 - DIRECTIONS FOR ADJUSTMENT OF THE "SCOTT" CHARGING REGULATOR. X 1402 If the charging current is low and the voltage does not rise properly when the charging is on, the carbon of column A requires adjusting owing to the settling in of the carbon blocks through car vibration, etc. This generally requires to be done after the first few hundred miles run. To adjust, the milled head B is turned slightly in a clockwise direction, the armature C will then come closer to the magnet pole D, and the charging current will be found to increase. There should be about 1/32" between the end of the brass screw at C and the magnet pole D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} A gauge is provided of this thickness, and if the milled head is screwed up, when no current is flowing, until the gauge will just slide in the space between the brass screw and D, the regulator will give the correct charging current.
