Rs{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/KW 10th July, 1935. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. For the attention of Mr. Robotham Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 9th inst., and in response would say that we have now received from our Laboratory their report upon the sample of sludge taken from the crank pin. We are attaching a copy of their official report, and they have drawn our attention to the high percentage of mineral matter - 67%. As the oil content is 23.5%, it leaves very little for anything which might be regarded as decomposition from the oil. Another point to which they have drawn our particular attention is the comparatively high lead content. Yours faithfully, C. C. WAKEFIELD & CO. LIMITED. Managing Director. Encs. | ||
