X4383 [STAMPED BOX] [STRIKETHROUGH]Mr. A.H.C.[/STRIKETHROUGH] C. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} BY./Dsl/ML.15.8.23. X.4383 - DYNAMO. We send you herewith one Print of D.51069 - Pole Assembly shewing the trailing edges of all the poles eased off. We have suggested an amount to be tried, but this can best be determined by experiment. Would you kindly modify some of the 9 dynamos you have and let us know if any improvement is obtained. Also, 1 blueprint of D.51070 - Commutator Assembly and L.O.P. and D.51061-Commutator Bar. This is a standard Commutator with the exception of the number of bars, and should be fitted to a new armature complete, which is standard (D.50588) except for the armature coils; these will require a tapping taking off at the centre or the present coil of 8 turns made up in two coils of 4 turns each, which ever is most convenient to provide the extra ends for the large number of Commutator Bars. A winding diagram will be issued as soon as possible. This Armature can then be tried on some of the experimental machines, as it is not desired to produce a complete new machine for this experiment. Will you please put these in hand as quickly as possible. BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /Ds. [Signature] | ||
