ESSEX 6 CYLINDER TERRAPLANE. Referring to E.6/HP.11.5.34. We have made a test to observe if the pumping forces of the transmission on the Essex Terraplane have any undesirable result on the engine mounting. The test was conducted on an extremely rough road, the gradient being approximately 3 1/2/1 so that the splines were under maximum torque. Observation of the engine movement fore and aft shewed that this was not in any way abnormal. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
