Re: Handbrake Clearance on Mulliner Continentals. We have checked the position of the handbrake on two Mulliner Continentals, and found them to be identical to a P.S.C. Saloon. However, on the Trials car we found that the handle end of the handbrake was 5/8" low due to the slotting of the attachment holes. When we pushed this up to the top of the slots the dimension became identical to the others. This has certainly effected some improvement, and it might be worth while asking Mr. Clarke to try the car again. Nevertheless I think this is a point which is open to criticism since even a small shoe will tend to foul the barrel of the handbrake if the foot is angled outwards at all, and if the heel is well forward near the bottom of the ramp board. I would say that the shape of the Mulliner seat tends to encourage this type of foot position. If Mr. Clarke is still not satisfied with the Trials car then we might be able to raise the cable end of the hand-brake a little by locally denting the demister duct, and re-drilling the dash board.
