To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Hotel de France Chateauroux Indre B E N S P O R T We completed the engine this morning and after running light for two hours we tried the car on the road. The engine was smooth and after several bursts of speed there was no sign of any tighness in the engine. We had to return to attend to the rear silencer, the rear baffle having worked loose, causing a rattle. We have taken further acceleration figures after running the engine in. There was .045 - .048 clearance from the top of the piston to top of cylinder as against previously .037 The acceleration figures are: MPH SEC 10 - 20 5 10 -30 8 4/5 10 - 40 14 1/5 10 - 50 19 10 - 60 25 3/5 10 - 70 32 2/5 10 - 80 44 MPH SEC 10 - 20 5 20 - 30 4 1/5 30 - 40 4 2/5 40 - 50 5 1/5 50 - 60 6 60 - 70 7 3/5 70 - 80 18 4/5 10 to 80 through gears 42 sec's.
