'INDIA' FRONT WHEEL BRAKE ADJUSTMENT.

REAR BRAKES.

The rear brakes should be provided initially with .020" clearance at the shoe centre. This clearance can be checked by the movement of the pedal after the servo clearance has been taken up, or by measurement at the end of lever G.50949 when the pedal is depressed. The movement at the end of lever G.50949 should be .600 when the brakes are correctly adjusted, at the centre of the pedal measured circumferentially 1.00", neglecting the movement required to take up the servo clearance.

SERVO ADJUSTMENT.

The initial adjustment of the servo should be such that .187" movement of the pedal (approx.) takes up the clearance. An additional check can be obtained by inserting a .025" feeler between the square faces of the face cams when the servo clearance has been taken up by depressing the pedal.

FRONT WHEEL BRAKE ADJUSTMENT.

As in the 40/50 HP., no indication of the front wheel brake adjustment can be obtained from the brake pedal movement. The clearance at the centre of the shoes should be initially .025". This setting can be checked by observing the movement of lever G.52474 on the front axle. The centre of the pin in this lever should move in .625" approx. before the brake clearance is taken up.
