to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and S. from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ORIGINAL EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/21.9.27. India 3 or 4. X5770 X5830 Regarding your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG19.9.27. and R9/M5.9.27. we will arrange to make a drawing and specification of the body which we shall need for India 3. Since we are going to fit this car with a High compression engine, we suggest that the body should be a closed one. Also, since there is to be the same amount of body space behind the back of the front seat as there used to be on the Upright Column on all cars, it may be assumed that a much greater percentage of cars will have auxillary seats fitted, with the consequent increase in body weight. The body we have should represent this maximum accommodation, but we should attempt to get it built as lightly as we can. If we do this we shall be able to test the chassis fitted with a body which will represent the majority of our production. We will discuss the matter with Mr Royce and arrange to have a body ready for the chassis. With reference to the wider dash, we are strongly in favour of this. All the recent experimental cars have this feature, as we have found it so advantageous to the coachwork. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
