CHASSIS. ------------------------------------------------------- With reference to the proposal to allow customers to have 33 x 6 Balloon Tyres on wheels with wellbase rims when specially requested, we wish to point out that in order to maintain the present clearance between tyres and the side steering tube and the chassis frame when on maximum lock, the steering locks should be reduced by 1°, in addition to which a special rear spare wheel carrier and luggage grid are also required. It will also be necessary for the coachwork to be cut away locally at the back in order to clear the centre stay tube of the rear spare wheel carrier, as the position of this will be somewhat higher than the present standard. No doubt you will arrange for instructions to be given for these special points to be dealt with, when customers order a chassis with 33 x 6 balloon tyres. BY/Cgh.{W Clough} | ||
