This equal a lost movement at end of pedal plate of .810" and due to the pedal deflection about the shaft, there is an additional lost movement at the end of the pedal plate of .120" - this gives a total of .930". The layout of these pedals seems to suggest that the previous type of pedals (N.sch.1876) is preferable, since in the type under test there is not sufficient pedal movement to allow full clutch plate movement. Supported by trunnion Referring to Fig.VI., before any load was applied a line was scribed along the clutch operating lever, and along the operating shaft on the centre line (the clutch operating lever was parallel with the bed plate so that load at start was at right angles to it). After the load was applied, with the same scribing-block setting, a line was again run along the lever and shaft.
