RE EAGLE XVI

There has been greater delay than we anticipated in completing the above Engine with Supercharger for Test, owing to the fact that we have been held up for Gears from the Gear Grinding Co., We have had repeated promises for these Gears, none of which have been fulfilled, and the Gear Grinding Co., have finally made the excuse that they are doubtful whether they can grind these small pitch Gears, but if we will send along the Gears for the 5-1 ratio (which have only just been instr-ucted) they will have a try.

We have, however, put in hand some more Gears and have had them finally cut to size so that the Engine can be completed. Whilst we have done this so that the job cannot be put up against us, we are very doubtful whether it will be satisfactory as the speed of these Gears is such, that it is essential they should be ground.

We thought it worth while mentioning these facts as it would appear that the Engine has been held up longer than should be necessary.
