Huckerby}15.5.36 We give below copy of a report received from our tester Bate at Messrs.Handley Page Ltd., Radlett Aerodrome, dated 14.5.36 .- "Re telephone conversation this afternoon. As stated, we had an engine which was cutting out at full boost "+5½ lbs/sq.in" on the ground, which was cured by changing plugs. The plugs removed were K.L.G. V7/3B, and the plugs fitted Lodge A.5B. On examination, 7 of the K.L.G.plugs were found to be faulty, the mica being badly burnt and cracked, and on some only pitted, and it would appear that this plug will not stand up to the heat. Handley Page are getting someone down from K.L.G. to see these plugs, and the A.I.D. are also taking the matter up. In the meantime it has been decided to discontinue using the plugs until we have further instructions". EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/RDO | ||
