Gentlemen:-

In response to your letter of Aug. 20 we are inclosing descriptive matter covering the new Mallory ignition system that we have developed particularly for oil-burning engines.

At the present time we are building this ignition for a large manufacturer of heavy-duty engines used on tractors. It is designed for comparatively low-speed work for engines that do not exceed 3000 RPM, and is now made for 12-volt operation only.

Up until the development of this ignition system considerable trouble had been experienced with the fouling of spark plugs although one of the most expensive magnetos was being used., yet this trouble has been eliminated due to the exceptional heat value. Incidentally, most of our experience has been confined to engines of the injector type, but we are reasonably sure that this system will work satisfactorily where carburetors are used.

We manufacture this system in two types, one a conventional vertical distributor, the other for horizontal mounting on magneto brackets of standard S.A.E. specifications. We are pleased to quote you f.o.b. Detroit a price of $20.00 for the horizontal distributor, $9.00 for the vertical, $6.00 for the coil and $.60 for the special resistance unit that is connected into the system.

Should you order one of these systems be sure to give us complete engine specifications.

Very truly yours,

MALLORY ELECTRIC CORPORATION
