XC4433 COMPRESSION IGNITION SINGLE CYLINDER UNIT. This engine has been run light for several short runs. It was necessary to add a considerable amount of heat to the in-going air before it was started or run. It was rather anticipated that we should have difficulty in starting because of the comparatively low compression ratio and the fact that the blower does not help us in the starting. The proposal is that we should make arrangements so that the blower can be driven independent of the engine, and also that we should put in hand a higher compression piston.
