CRANKSHAFT WITH LARGER DIA. JOURNALS. We send herewith LeC.2925 dealing with the above. This drawing shows the existing crankchamber adapted to take a crankshaft having the larger journals. The object of this experiment is to try a crankshaft fitted up with R's 8 balance weight scheme, for which purpose it is considered necessary to produce a crankshaft more rigid torsionally than standard. LeC.2925 accordingly is shown with journals .25 larger in dia. than standard, and retains the 2.375 dia. crankpin shown on the balance weight scheme LeC.2922. The standard pin is 2.125".
