Stiffer Change Gear Cross Shaft.
Left Hand Senior Range.

The size of the cross shaft on the Rationalised gearbox for the Senior range when fitted to left hand chassis was controlled by the diameter of the 2nd. speed synchromesh cone.

Since designing this cross shaft we have been requested to produce a revised design of reverse gear operation. PL.65 which calls for a reduction in the diameter of the cone in question.

We are now therefore taking the opportunity of improving the rigidity of the left hand change gear cross shaft and our revised requirements PL.121 of which we enclose two prints.

At the same time we have shown the necessary spring to hold the change speed lever always in the top and 3rd. position which was omitted in the original scheme.

Enclosed 4 copies of memo.
2 copies of PL.121.
