TYSELEY, BIRMINGHAM TELEPHONE: ACOCKS GREEN 1601-2-3-4 March 1st 1935 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Sirs, We are to day sending you the D.A.42 carburetter which you requested. With this letter we are sending you two curves showing the metering characteristics of this carburetter, which has been sent to you with the setting shown in curve No.2 You will notice that the mixture ratios are within the range of those obtained from the carburetter which was brought back here, but the wide open throttle from 1.5 to 5 lbs of air mixtures are considerably richer. Curve No.1 shows mixtures obtained with the alternative Main Discharge Jet which we are sending with the carburetter. This is running rich for some way off idle and there is a tendency for the full throttle curve to be richer at the bottom end of the range. We are also sending you metering jets, .064, .068, .070 and .071. Yours faithfully, BENDIX LIMITED C.H.L. Wynne C.H.L. WYNNE Engineering Department ENCL: CHLW/CH.
