For the attention of Mr. Hives.

Dear Sirs,

Further to our letter of yesterday on the subject of plugs for the Atlantic Flight, we enclose herewith a sample which will show you the construction of the D13. This plug is not a correct model because the thread is too long. We have left the gland nut loose so that you can easily examine it. The centre pin is made of non-scaling steel, and we think you will find it a very reliable plug.

We should be obliged if you would return this sample after examination.

Yours faithfully,
THE LODGE SPARKING PLUG CO. LTD.
