We have now examined the following switch boxes sent from U.S A.{Mr Adams}, and taken from U.S.A. cars, (1) the Delco from the old Buick, (2) the Connecticut, (3) the Westinghouse from 4 EX, (4) the U.S.A. Bosch sent from Springfield, and (5) the Delco from the Marmon car. All, with the exception of the last (5) are not worth consideration in their present form and manufacture, but the Delco from the Marmon car is distinctly good. With few exceptions it is difficult to imagine anything much more suitable when adapted for our particular requirements. I should strongly recommend Springfield to adopt this make (unless they find something still more advantag- eous) It would appear that their electrical equipment will be rather a mixed one. We are not sure whether it is possible for the Delco people to embody a charging switch, but I think such a switch should be provided to avoid over-charging the battery during the summer months. It might, however, be considered advisable to embody the charging switch with the mounting of the ammeter. It would separate and simplify | ||
