As regards the life test of batteries we agree with the
points expressed in your letter, we ourselves had little confidence
in the late method of testing. When we mentioned an extensive
life test we did not mean anything quite so concentrated, but at
the same time something more precise, and of shorter duration
than a life test on a car. Our present ideas on this subject may
