File. 600. STEERING. General Description. The steering on the 25/30 H.P. Wraith is of the "worm and roller" type. It is mounted on the frame by means of a special bracket, to which it is clamped. All moving parts are mounted on ball or roller bearings. Steering Column & Box, Removed from Frame. To remove the steering column and box from the chassis proceed as follows:- (1) Disconnect side steering tube from pendulum lever. (2) Remove pedals from pedal actuating levers. (3) Remove floorboards, and pedal gap plate from dashboard, also from adjusting bracket on column. (4) Uncouple one shot pipe to pendulum lever. (5) Uncouple throttle and damper governor controls at lower end of column. (6) Uncouple horn wire. (7) Remove split pin, pendulum retaining nut. (8) Undo pendulum retaining nut. (9) Remove pendulum lever with special extractor. (10) Remove anchor bracket cap holding column to dash. (11) Remove support bracket caps holding steering box to side member. (12) Lift column and box out of car backwards. | ||
