Dear Sirs, The correspondence relating to the use of compound oils for car storage, has been handed on to this Department. We have had considerable experience of cars stored with pure mineral oils, but little or no experience of cars stored with compound oils. We therefore recommend the type of lubricant of which we have had experience. We are always up against the fact that unless we recommend every oil in the world for use on all occasions in our cars, we offend somebody. It is quite clear however, that if we tested all the oils which are available, we should do nothing else and our own development work would suffer.
