ORIGINAL TO C.J. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} C. to Bdy-Wks. " GHE. " H.S. re. ENCLOSED BODY SENT TO FRANCE FOR TRIAL. X8830 T8430 This body, like many of the 40/50s. has I think become prohibitively heavy, and I would like to point out that I do not approve of it as a desirable standard until it has been reduced in weight, and probably altered in some way in scheme arrangements. I noticed on this car that the steering wheel was smaller than the standard I usually see. I do not know who is the author of this, but I do not approve of it, as I think the 18" wheel as fitted to 'D' steering should be our all-round standard. I am informed however that Sales object to the larger wheel, but I should like it to be known that I object strongly to two sizes, and also that 'B' steerings which are on our heavier cars should have the smaller steering wheel.
