We have got this car from the Coachbuilders - it looks very nice and the dimensions appear to give very comfortable accommodation. X.3888. We found that the needle on the petrol level indicator on this car had jumped round 180° when driven from London. We have had it to pieces and made a hardened steel bar which is fixed to the spindle and carries the needle - this bar has been properly magnetized and balanced. We find now that the indicator works accurately and no amount of jerky movement will cause it to jump 180°. X.4215 To complete this car, we are now waiting for a suitable electric cut-out also we have still to fit an auxiliary small jet for starting. We expect to have this car ready to bring to W.W. towards the end of next week. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
