EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X7810 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ru.3/MJ.11.4.30. x7518 x7810 x401 x406 STEERING COMPLAINT - SIR HENRY SEGRAVE. 80-WJ. On going over the steering on this car, which was complained of by Sir Henry Segrave, we find that the front wheel was 1 lb. out of balance and that the pivot lean was 3 1/2°. As we understand that you carefully tried the car with these tyres on and reported on them, we should like to know whether you checked the wheels for balance, as an error of this magnitude is of course sufficient to completely spoil the steering. Sir Henry emphasises that the tyres had not been touched since the car reached him. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
