I hope this explanation is satisfactory.

I might add that I have recently made a further trial on a Vauxhall Radiator, in which the resistance to air flow is up to .5" w.g. for 1500 cubic ft. per minute, and the dissipation is 15 h.p. at 1,000 cubic ft. per minute for the 1 sq.ft. radiator at 60°F.{Mr Friese} water inlet, 160°F.{Mr Friese} mean.

This is an increase in resistance by over .1 of an inch at 1500 cubic ft. per minute, but there is very little change in the horsepower dissipated. Whether the original trial was in error, or whether there is this variation in production radiators, I am unable to say, but I suspect the radiators.
