To EFC. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 31st August 1918. E1/G31818. X.3362. RE DRAWING OFFICE LIGHTING INSTALLATION AT WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. I return herewith blue print No. E1/G14818. having made certain alterations to the specification of the wiring. The main circuit is now taken through the rear hall, (instead of breaking into the main drawing office) for the greater part of the way. It passes through the main drawing office for a short distance only, in the recess formed by the chimney piece. After leaving the main drawing office it passes into the auxiliary office to a distributing board on which are mounted three small fuse boxes, and three switches for the drawing office lights. Returning again to the engine house, it is desired to have a small switch board mounting one dynamo switch, one battery switch, and a main fuse box containing a single main fuse as you suggest. The main conductors should be carried in the simplest form of simplex tubing, which we understand is a pipe formed by bending a sheet cylindrically, but not joining the edges together in any way. This unfinished pipe is not screwed for the joints, but is just clamped between split fittings. The distributing board in the auxiliary office is intended to be quite a small affair, about six or eight inches square. Mr. Royce thinks you could rig this, and the switch board up at the Works for us. Contd... | ||
