Reports have been sent in on the following :- X.886 - Front Springs F.4139/40 with .218" top plate with rolled eye on top. [strikethrough] Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}10/L6114. Springs F.4141/8 with .300" Sheet. 2s and solid eyes central. X.1007 - Tyre Deflection under various loads. bronze with 10% lead added to see if they will be quieter and as effective as the cast iron liners in operation. These will be ready in a few days. R [/strikethrough] X.1002 - Bumping test of Frame with one small Front cross Member only, well forward. X.5 - Front Springs 2¼" wide with .251" top plates and rolled eyes. ------------------------------------------------- Double Rear Brakes. X.2 We are trying to get rid of the hissing and dry grating noise of the foot brake and find that it can be reduced by polishing the brake drums. Up to the present we have only polished them with emery cloth and they get rough again after a certain amount of use. There is some difficulty about grinding the drums in the works. Arrangements are being made to grind them and we hope that the result will be more lasting than the polishing.
