In reply to the above memo, wherein ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/MS requests us to advise Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} the difference in cost for gear box parts in alternative material, we give below savings in Factory Cost.

The parts at present made in 3½% Nickel Steel, if made in Carbon Steel Specn. 201D. would give the following Factory Cost Savings:-

The parts at present made in 5% Nickel Steel if made in Ubas would give Factory Cost savings as follows:-
