The procedure we recommend for this car is that we ought to complete it and just run it on the road to see that we are not going to be in any serious trouble with frame 'Jellying' or steering difficulties. When we are satisfied on those points it would not appear necessary to do any further road testing until the car is something like we hope it to be for production.

We shall soon have a second engine test unit which will enable us to carry on with our test bed work, and there is still a lot of work to be done to prove out the reliability of the unit, and we also want to do some investigation to decide the best material for the cylinders.

We shall also require quickly a complete chassis with front and rear axles, steering, etc., to run on the Bumper. This is urgently required. We also do a large amount of work on shock absorbers on the rig and on the bumper.

At the present time J.J is receiving very little design attention, and it may be better to dismantle the first car and use that chassis for the bumper rather than keep it about and nothing being done with it.

Another important point is that the 'Peregrine' is being scaled down from J.lll so that this is going forward with most of the J.lll faults.
