COVENTRY.

Dear Wilks,

Herewith a copy of the power curve which I showed you the other day.

Our ambition for a long time has been to get an engine which would give a B.M.E.P. of 500 to 4,000 R.P.M., and, at the same time, be capable of running on 80 octane fuel without excessive detonation.

This curve is probably 5% better than we shall get in production as it was taken off a particularly good engine. On the other hand, we shall be disappointed if we do not manage to run at 7:1 compression ratio which will, of course, lift up the top and middle of the curve by 5%.

We very much enjoyed our visit the other day, and I am sending Martindale to look over your brake set up on Wednesday of next week.

Yours sincerely,
