PRIVATE & CONFIDENTIAL. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} at W. 400 C1/ES.1.9.41. B-V used by Lp.{Mr Lappin} Following the recent accident, N. have now completed the exchange of chassis, replacing the original damaged chassis No. B-22-AW with B-38-AW, which was being stored. Shortages on B-38-AW have been made good by parts removed from B-22-AW. For various reasons it has been thought better that the chassis of Lp{Mr Lappin}'s car should continue to bear the original number of B-22-AW, and the damaged chassis has taken the number of the replacement, i.e., B-38-AW. Do you want the damaged chassis sent up to W. for inspection, both from the point of view of wear and tear developed whilst it has been on the road, and the damage resulting from the accident. If you do, we will ask N. to send it along to you. If you do not, then those parts which are fit for further use will be kept at N. and ear-marked for use as spares on other B-V's now on the road.
