these slots will do more to cooling than what is lost by taking away the matrix. It would not cause any deficiency in the appearance of the car. I have not the opportunity to try this test and should be pleased if you will give it a trial.

Re temperatures varying with speed and air temp.-
We are sending you a chart showing the various rises and falls of water and air temperatures during the car's mileage for 4 days. The readings are taken every 50 miles, irrespective of speed. The speed of the car is just as the traffic etc., allows. The curves therefore show what actually happens during a 250 mile run.

Re exhaust. We have received the all steel exhaust system and have fitted it without experiencing any troubles. We are taking the opportunity, whilst waiting for the pressure plate of the clutch, to examine the various parts of the car. We have not at this juncture found any other serious faults.

Re The gear box undershield. We are of the opinion that the undershield now fitted under the flywheel case and gear box could without any deterioration to the car be entirely done away with. It was of use when the drive between the clutch and gear box was open and the servo motor in a lower position; but with the new design of all enclosed drive and servo motor higher up, there is actually no need for an undershield.

We have been running without ours ever since the exhaust failed,
