R R 235 B (200 T) (S.F. 674 22-5-19) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2376 X.3754. To Gs. from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to Mr. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Ck.{Mr Clark} X.3754 RE CAST IRON REPAIR PISTONS. Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}5/W3. 3. 20. With reference to CJ11/E.1.3.20, the cast iron pistons referred to are of the split type, the design of which is based on the latest design of split aluminium piston. They therefore differ considerably from the cast iron pistons which are at present standard for repair work. It is clear that they must be rigourously tested and proved as new parts for standard production. These pistons will be tested by Mr. Hives and Capt. Hallam and we will obtain your sanction and that of Mr. Royce before using them for standard repair work. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} | ||
