Copy to DY{F R Danby}/RD. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst. 6116. E.1/HP. 12th December 1936. Mr Neal, Messrs. J.Lucas Ltd., Great King Street, BIRMINGHAM. Dear Mr Neal, I am sorry that I was missing yesterday when you called but somehow I have got my appointments mixed up and was away in London at the time. I have however seen Mr West and Mr Davis this morning and discussed your proposals for meeting the requirements for cars in this Country, the requirements for cars abroad, and also the arrangement for cars which are taken abroad from time to time. The scheme you put forward appears to me to be very satisfactory from all points of view. I agree that to change the lamp bulb for a double filament is preferable to making the mechanism of the dipping reflector alterable, particularly as the double filament complies with the French law. I am, therefore, in agreement with your proposals, and should be glad if you would go ahead and let us have some sample lamps for test. Yours faithfully, For and on behalf of ROLLS-ROYCE Limited From A.G.ELLIOTT. CHIEF DESIGNER. | ||
