Our present vulcanized pedal rubbers are a source of difficulty from the point of view of replacement, in that a customer has to buy the complete pedal plate and holder, also the Service Department has to stock a very large number of different pedal holders. This design was adopted owing to complaints of rattles with the previous loose rubber with metal tabs, but it is suggested that a loose moulded rubber with a suitable retaining rim would not suffer from this defect, would be a very easy and simple replacement, and would be cheaper than the vulcanized rubber. A sample rubber (ex Riley) is handed you herewith, together with samples of present vulcanized rubbers. If this type is satisfactory, we would like replacements for earlier models.
