PHONE No BATH 2277 (4 LINES) BATH. 24th November 1931. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D e r b y. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of Nov. 19th referring to your tests on pump No.4163. This pump, as we informed you in our letter of Sept. 8th 1930, was supplied for test with lubricating oil, arising out of a discussion with Mr. Elliott at Olympia in Sept. 1927. We do not claim that the pump would be suitable for the conditions of duty under which your test was conducted, but we see that you require an unprimed suction lift of about 12 ft. with petrol, combined with variation in speed from about 250 to 2200 r.p.m. and if we develop a design which we think is likely to fulfil such a requirement we will get in touch with you again, in case you wish to make a further test. Yours faithfully, For STOTHERT & PITT LTD. [Signature] Manager Pump Dept. | ||
