K719. Experimental Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}9/KT. December 14th 1933. Messrs Ferodo Ltd., Chapel-en-le-Frith. For the attention of Mr.Field. Dear Sirs, We thank you very much for sending the drawings of the hydraulic ram for servo measurements. We have had complaints on our Bentley cars fitted with MR. material of inefficient brakes after the car has been washed. Our experience of MZ. material is that it is not appreciably better in this respect. We have, however, demonstrated to our own satisfaction that the Bonded Asbestos standard on the 40/50 and 25 HP. chassis is very little affected by water and dries out much more quickly. We could demonstrate this to you on several of our cars if you came over to Derby. We have recently standardised MR. material on the 20/25 and are expecting complaints similar to those on the Bentley. Also we are not free from squeaks with MR. We should be glad to have your views on this with particular reference to the disadvantages of Bonded Asbestos to which we could of course revert. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
