COMMITTEE I./C.36 PHANTOM III STANDARDISATION OF PARTS Description: LUCAS R.100 Headlamps fitted with dipping mechanism and changeover switch in each lamp. Purpose: To provide an easy means of changing over from H.I dipping to H.J dipping for customers taking their cars on the continent. The changeover is made by a simple alteration. Dipping mechanism and changeover switch in each lamp increases Factory cost of chassis, Lucas charge being 4/- with an additional 1/9d. for wiring cost. This modification may be introduced without scrap at 50th chassis in 'D' series. A Lucas charge of £.5.0.0d. is involved which also covers a similar alteration on Bentley headlamps (Ctd. Sheet B.11).
