R.R. 300 (6 B) (W. 524. 25.5.11) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 1693. ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To: Mr Poarrington for T.C. Order No.: PZ(111) Customer's No.: X393 Re: Attached By making the bodywork considerably stronger therefore considerably heavier, a landaulette could be made strong enough to support itself on 4 points. Such a scheme of construction would probably prevent "matchboxing" of door posts. I do not believe however, that it would prevent door-rattles. "matchboxing" is not the principle cause of door rattles. well-made doors make a noise, after a little wear, chiefly because they are thrown up & down & the dovetails & latches strike their sockets upwards & downwards. a loosely fitted door, such as on our labourdette shakes about like a die in a box & can be made to rattle by hand without the door-posts "matchboxing".
