Associated Equipment Co. Ltd.,
Southall,
MIDDX.

For the attention of Mr. G.J.Rackham.

Dear Sirs,

In the absence of Mr. Robotham we give herewith a reply to your letter of the 27th. in respect of salt filled valves.

The position regarding the patent rights on these valves is as follows. Wilcox-Rich of Detroit are the patentees of the valves under the patent numbers 224288 and 375121 and in this country the "Bristol" Co. are the licensees for Wilcox-Rich, and we, Rolls-Royce Ltd., are sub-licensees to "Bristols".

We understand that Wilcox-Rich are at present applying for an extension of the term of patent 224288 which shortly runs out.

It is under consideration as to whether to oppose the application for extension.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
