To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} C. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X45T3 HE/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.14.9.34. Bentley Wing Movement & Frame Jellying. We have now concluded a series of experiments on the cross member between the lamp brackets which was designed to reduce this trouble. We now know that the experimental car on which we were working is not nearly so bad for wing movement as some customers' cars. On this car the cross member makes about 40% improvement. To conclude the test we should like to fit the cross member to the worst case of wing movement that the Repair Dept. have experienced, i.e., Mr. Richard Summers' car. His original wings have fallen to pieces and Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has agreed to replace them by a set of steel wings. These could be dealt with at the same time as the cross member. Will you please say if you agree. HE/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
