Body Faults on 18-04.

Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has handed to me your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/MJ8131 and has asked me to reply to you on the subject.

The information you give is of course very useful and helpful in enabling us, in co-operation with the Coachbuilders, to trace out the causes of these faults and to take such steps as will prevent their recurrence. We have, of course, already been in touch with Park Ward about it, and had hoped to show them the car when it was last in London. Unfortunately, the car returned to N. without the opportunity of showing Park Ward the body, but we naturally are seeking the first opportunity of showing it to them. I understand that Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} has already asked you when it is likely that we shall beable to show it to the Coachbuilders in London, and I would be glad to hear from you as soon as possible on this point.

It is very important that we should be able to show them the car in its present condition before anyone at Derby takes steps to rectify any of the faults, otherwise Park Ward may lose some helpful information and thus tend to shelve the responsibility.

Park Ward, in dealing with the points at issue, have made it quite clear that it is very difficult for them to give any opinion until they see the car, and you will therefore realise that we cannot do very much more in this matter until we can get hold of it to show them. It is hoped, therefore, that you will be able to let us have the car at a very early date for this purpose.

Ox.
