Dear Mr. Armstrong,

I am just running over the fundamental cost comparison of the single horizontal cylinder shock absorber against your twin vertical cylinder type if produced in our Factory, and would like to know what royalty you would expect so that I can get a true comparison of cost.

I should be grateful if you would let me have the numbers of all the patents covering this damper. At the moment I only have your patent 456,937, which does not appear to have any novel features that we should require.

As we have had a lot of experience with the horizontal type of damper which is almost universally used in America there would need to be a number of advantages before we changed to another type.

I expect with our small quantities of 160 dampers a week the advertisement would be your real gain.

It would be to everybody's advantage if you could supply this information as soon as possible.

I was very pleased to see you on Monday.

Yours sincerely,
