Re Chassis 163-TA. Verrells:

Ltd. has handed us your memo. Br.2/S.14.8.35. from which we note that Mr. Verrells has experienced trouble due to vapour lock.

The only immediate remedy we know is to fit an isolating plate directly in front of the filter and so divert the hot air stream from the exhaust downtake pipe.

Sr. experienced the same trouble on 187-TA, but overcame it by fitting this isolating plate, which is composed of 2 sheets of alum. with a sheet of asbestos sandwiched in between and rivetted together, the thickness of alum. being round about 23 SWG. The plate dimensions were 8.500" x 7.000" and fitted 3.75" from the dash.
