To EH. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} COPY to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FP.{F. Potts} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} EPC. RECEIVED ORIGINAL W.T.A 11th January, 1919. E3/C11119. X.2565. X.1809 RE SPEEDOMETER DRIVE ON 500 "AFTER THE WAR" 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS. Would you kindly note that Mr. Royce agrees that we should take over the speedometer drive, and supply fitted to the chassis, a small belt pulley component of our own design and manufacture. This should be driven in the usual position from the back axle, with a belt ratio suitable for a driving shaft of an Elliott speedometer. I am not sure that the instrument itself should be included in the chassis, but no doubt you could arrange the drive on the model cars you are making, and the question of including the speedometer itself can be settled later. Would Mr. Bailey kindly put in hand therefore, the design for the speedometer countershaft. MAE E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
