This would not have the effect of preventing wear in the same way as an oil containing a large quantity of castor oil. It might, however, be very much better than the all-mineral oil, but regarding this we have made no tests, and cannot at present do so.

It is understood that your tests shew that the quantity of castor used is substantially less than all the oils not containing a large percentage of castor oil. So that as regards running cost there is a distinct saving made up in (1) less oil, (2) Less repairs, and greater satisfaction of running of the cars.

I also agree that it is increasingly important since we are now recommending that cars should do 50,000 miles instead of 20,000 before a completely stripped overhaul.
