Development of slackness in the R.R. pinion and its splines, comparing it with a Bosch design.

EFC2/T7.2.29. -2- Contd. A point which is now causing us some concern is the development of slackness between the R.R. pinion and its splines. We find that unless these are an exceptionally good fit originally the load to which the pinion is subjected causes slackness to develop rather rapidly and we are inclined to think that an alteration in design may become necessary at this point. The Bosch pinion has two splines only but of much stouter dimensions than our own. We have mentioned this point to Ey. EFC. | ||
